Shopify plan calculator

How the calculation works

For each plan, the tool adds up the subscription and the variable fees. With Shopify Payments, these are online card fees (a percentage plus a fixed amount per order). With another gateway, these are the transaction fees Shopify adds on top of your provider's fees.

Fees drop on higher plans while the subscription goes up: above a certain revenue, the savings on fees outweigh the higher subscription. This threshold is calculated for each plan upgrade.

The calculator uses Shopify's French prices (in euros). Shopify pricing varies by country and changes over time: we update it regularly, but always check the official page before deciding.

Frequently asked questions

When should I upgrade from Basic to Grow?

When the savings on payment fees exceed the difference in subscription price. Based on current French Shopify prices with yearly billing, this threshold is around €26,000 in monthly revenue through Shopify Payments: the calculator adjusts it to your average order value.

Is yearly billing worth it?

It cuts the subscription by about 25% but commits you for a year. If your store is up and running and you are sure you'll stay on Shopify, it is usually worth it.

Why use Shopify Payments?

Without Shopify Payments, Shopify adds transaction fees of 0.6% to 2% depending on the plan, on top of your provider's fees. Shopify Payments avoids these extra fees and offers card rates that drop on higher plans.
